Lyon shows keen interest in United’s midfielder

French team Lyon football club has displayed keen interest in signing Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj.

Lyon may be losing a skillful player, Rachid Ghezzal and is interested in getting a suitable replacement to fill the void once he leaves.

Lyon might lose Rachid Ghezzal as the midfielder’s contract is expected to end next summer.

Adnan Januzaj has not put on a very good performance since his arrival at Sunderland. Last summer, Manchester United loaned the attacking midfielder to fellow league side, Sunderland.

Adnan Januzaj has been playing for United since 2011 but he could not meet up with the high expectations placed on him. His performance dipped in the past two seasons and he couldn’t make it into Mourinho’s team.

Lyon is currently making moves to successfully sign Januzaj and is in talks with ex-Manchester United coach, David Moyes.

It is expected that the French team would talk to Manchester United, Sunderland and Januzaj when they are finally ready for a deal.

The 21-year old attacking midfielder started his football career back in 2001 by playing for FC Brussels between 2001 and 2005.

After playing for about four seasons for FC Brussels, Adnan Januzaj moved to Anderlecht in 2005.

The midfielder played for Anderlecht for about six seasons between 2005 and 2011.

In 2011, Adnan Januzaj found his way to one of England’s biggest team Manchester United where he remained until his loan spell to Sunderland.

He played for Manchester United for two different seasons before he was loaned to Germany’s Borussia Dortmund. He played for Borussia Dortmund for a single season between 2015 and 2016.

After completing the one-year loan deal with Borussia Dortmund, Adnan Januzaj was sent to play under ex-Manchester United manager in Sunderland.

Adnan Januzaj who has been a regular player under David Moyes has been able to make 13 appearances for Sunderland football club.
