Mourinho is unhappy despite victory over Hull city, Manchester United appears to be in a good position to book a place in the EFL final after defeating Hull City 2-0 at Old Trafford.
While everything looks good for United lately, Jose Mourinho is not impressed with the support the team is getting from the fans.
The Portuguese manager has demanded a better atmosphere at Old Trafford when Liverpool visits Old Trafford on Sunday.
Goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini saw United defeat Hull City on Tuesday as United draws closer to the EFL final.
Although United is currently enjoying a ninth win in succession, this achievement was met with lukewarm response from United fans despite Mourinho’s appeal at the home fans to increase support for the team.
With Liverpool coming to Old Trafford on Sunday, Mourinho want Manchester United’s fans to support the team more during the encounter.
“I was really disappointed with the response of our fans, Hull were very organized in the defense. I was expecting that and it was not easy for us to penetrate” Mourinho said.
“Although I think we were a bit sloppy in the first half, we were not organized, one more touch, too much, delaying decisions, we gave them time to organize themselves early. It was not our best first half.
“I think we ought to do better in the first half, I ought to do better in the first half and definitely the fans as well.
“We all improved in the second half a bit. But this game is over now; I have to focus on Liverpool on Sunday. I have to do better on Sunday, the players need to play better and the atmosphere during play needs to be better as well”.
Hull City played David Myler and Tom Huddlestone, who are midfielders in defense position due to injury crises but Mourinho was not expecting an easy fixture.
“I was expecting a very tough match” Mourinho stated.
“I wasn’t expecting us to score four or five goals, one is good but two is definitely better”.
