According to reports Antonio Conte wants to sign both Fernando Llorente from Swansea and West Ham’s highest goal scorer Michail Antonio.
Conte is looking to strengthen his attack for the rest of the season, and he wants to make two signings before the January transfer window ends.
Llorente, 31, has scored six goals in 17 Premier League games this season after he joined Swansea from Sevilla last summer; and Conte is looking to sign him as a back-up for Diego Costa.
Conte is willing to make this move because he is uncertain about the abilities of Michy Batshuayi who was signed for £33m last summer from Olympic Marseille. There is no indicator that the Belgian may play for Chelsea as he is yet to start a single Premier League match for the Blues.
Swansea has stated that they will to get Batshuayi on loan in exchange for Llorente but Antonio Conte is not ready to release the Belgian international.
“I think that he is working very well, he’s improving a lot, and I’m sure that, in the future, he will have his chance to play,” the Italian said in December.
“He wants to stay. I repeat; He is a young player. We are talking about a player who is 23. He’s starting his path in football and there are many possibilities with him.
“He has great talent, great potential, and I think it’s very important for him as a footballer to complete this season [here]. He wants to stay and I’m happy for this.
“But it’s not easy to play this league, and it’s important to adapt in physical and tactical situations.
“We are working a lot with him and also the other players to improve this situation. For me, it’s important to see great attitude and behavior in each training session. That’s the most important thing.”
Chelsea leads the Premier League table with five-points and will play defending champions Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on January 14.
