Arsene Wenger gave Arsenal supporters some positive news as he revealed that both Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey would return to full training ahead of the festive period.
Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey were both sidelined for quite some time now, but both players are recovering from injury and will be able to feature for the side. They are expected to play for the side in the Boxing Day fixture against West Brom.
Wenger gave more positive comments when he confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s injury in their match against Manchester City was not as serious as first imagined.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who was only able to play for 13 minutes on Sunday against Manchester City would be returning very soon.
“It is not very bad,” Wenger told reporters during an interview.
“It’s a question of days rather than weeks.”
This is certainly good news for Arsenal as the busiest period of the Premier League season draws close.
From Boxing day, Arsenal will be playing four games in just 13 days, and the return of the injured players especially Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck who has been injured since may will be a big boost for Wenger as he prepares to prevent his side from a third consecutive defeat.
“Danny joins for the first time today,” Wenger noted about Welbeck. “He will return to training today which is very good news.”
“Welbeck will need some time. Today is the first time he joins in with the team training, so I’m very cautious because you can have setbacks after being out for so long.”
Wenger also added: “Aaron Ramsey is in training. He’s an efficient offensive player and is a complete box-to-box player.”
Danny Welbeck has been out injured since eight may when he injured his knee in a 2-2 Premier League draw with Manchester City.
He also missed the first seven months of last season with another knee injury.
