Manchester United is interested in signing Atletico Madrid and French play maker, Antoine Griezmann.
The Red Devils lured the former Juventus star back to old Trafford and are willing to sign Antoine Griezmann from Athletico Madrid as well.
Manchester United has already procured the services of a top agent to negotiate the deal on their behalf. The deal could be cost United up to £60 million, but Jose Mourinho has made it clear that Griezman remains his number one target for next season.
The Frenchman has been the star player for Atletico Madrid after joining the club from Real Sociedad in 2014. The 25 years old who has an average of a goal per game has formed a close partnership with United star Paul Pogba during their time together at the France national team.
Discussions appear to be at an advanced stage as Griezmann is already talking to Paul Pogba about life in England and the premier league in particular. He admitted around November that he would like to play with the world’s most expensive player, but a move is unlikely to happen in the January transfer window.
“I always ask my good friend Paul Pogba about life at Old Trafford and England. I think Manchester United is a big club with excellent infrastructure, impressive fan base, and a world-class manager.”
“I hear a lot of speculation about me going to PSG or Manchester United, but right now I want to focus on Atletico Madrid, I don’t see myself moving to a new club now.”
Antoine Griezmann signed a new contract at Atletico which raised his buy-out clause to £84 million but United are eyeing a move in the range of £60 million.
Greizmann has scored 66 goals in 128 appearances for Atletico Madrid helping them to reach the Champions League final.
