Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had declared that he wants to get additional super quality players to his frontline in the January transfer window, and a player that has been linked with a transfer to the Anfield side is Dutch forward Quincy Promes. The 24-year-old player is regarded as one of the most promising talents in Holland’s football, and he is currently in the employ Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow.
The Merseyside club might have kept Promes as an alternative when the January window opens, but that appears to be in near jeopardy as a second Dutch forward has a huge role to play in the player staying with his side. Manchester United star Memphis Depay has not had the best of times in this campaign with the club, and he is wanted by the Spartak Moscow player.
This report is according to the player’s Russian agent, Alexey Safonov, and he was quoted by as saying that the player wants the help of Red Devils Depay to win the coveted Russian title.
“According to information at my disposal, the player wants to help Spartak Moscow win the League title, and Manchester Depay is willing to come to Spartak Moscow,” Safonov said.
Promes has been excellent up front for Spartak this season; he has hauled six goals from 15 league matches. The 24 -year- old can play across the line, but his scoring of important goals has certainly made him a standout.
The Spartak Moscow player could have been a perfect replacement for Liverpool’s Sadio Mane; who is about to leave for the CAF African Cup of Nations in January, but Manchester’s Depay could be looking to pour some water on that.
This would have been a very great alternative for the Klopp’s Reds side should they have secured the 24-year-old, but as it is now it appears like he will remain in the Russia capital until the end of the campaign at least a major blow to the Anfield side.
