Robert Lewandowski set a record when he scored twice in their last Bundesliga match against league rival Mainz. The super striker has scored twice in each of the four consecutive matches in Mainz’s home.
The recent victory at Mainz means Bayern Munich are now temporarily at the top of the table. In their last match, the opponent scored the opening goal which was balanced not long by Arjen Robben’s 8-minute goal. The Polish super striker added one goal each in the first and second half which helped Bayern Munich seal the win.
The Bavarians top the table with 30 points after playing 13 football matches and winning 9 of the football matches. Bayern Munich drew three games and lost one which gave them a temporary lead above RB Leipzig who has an excellent game. The game on Friday began with a minute silence for the Brazilian team Chapecoense that died in a plane crash in Columbia.
Thomas Muller who came across two chances in the game wasted the opportunities that could have made the victory a bigger one. Robben came for the first time to score the equalizer goal he also came back the second time to provide an assist for Lewandowski.
The 32-year old Dutch winger made his 150th appearance in their last match against rival Mainz. The Dutch winger is no doubt an achiever after winning the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, Premiership and much more.
Lewandowski scored his initial goal in the match from the chance provided by Arjen Robben and netted the second time late in the match.
The Polish striker has scored nine times in Bundesliga and four times in the UEFA Champions League. He scored twice in the Audi Cup and three times in DEB Pokal, but he has not scored in any other competition.
