Barcelona six points behind Real Madrid after draw

Barcelona’s performance on Sunday as the champions were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Sociedad has been under severe scrutiny. Gerard Pique has expressed doubts over his team’s ability to retain the La Liga title; we can only do this if our performance is boosted expressed the captain.

At Anoeta, Lionel Messi quickly stopped Jose’s opener in the second half through a stunning strike. Defender Pique expressed concern that his team was lucky to escape with a point.

After last week’s draw with Malaga with no goal, Barca went behind Real Madrid with two points and are presently six points below their rivals into next week’s match at the Nou Camp.

In a brief interview, Gerard Pique stated his feelings of not being impressed with the team’s result.

Pique explained that there are times when giving up a particular method of playing will push his team into winning. He also emphasized the need for them to have the right kind of disposition to winning and losing.

He felt bitter about his team’s performance as noted in his statement: “Almost nothing went right for us today,” added Pique. “They outplayed us in the quality of their play and attitude.

We barely existed in the first half and improved a bit in the second, but it’s difficult to win the league playing like this.”

In the first half, Pique had a slight injury on his ankle, but he did not allow that affect his performance as he concentrated hard on the game.

Currently, the Barcelona team captain believes that Zidane’s side had a better performance than his team.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique admitted his team’s performance was the worst since he took charge of the club in 2014.

Enrique also revealed that their main rival was better than them, but they promised to put on a better show in El-Clasico.
